Introduction |
| |
The establishment of the Trust
results from the benefaction of
the well-known and respected Bourne
farmer and businessman Thomas
Leonard Pick, known to all as
“Len”, who died suddenly
at Peterborough District Hospital
on the 29th January 2004 aged
94. Len was educated at Bourne
Grammar School, which he left
at the age of 14 to join the family
Coal Business, of which he subsequently
undertook the management from
the age of 16. Later he also undertook
the management of the family wholesale
potato merchants business. Finally
he also became a successful farmer
before finally retiring in the
early 1970’s. |
