Earlier on today, at 1347 hours, we caught sight of the first egg.
The owls are very late in Lincolnshire this year.
This is usually prey related.
Hopefully the voles and mice are increasing at just the right time.
The next egg is due on Tuesday night.
Yesterday’s down time with camera was, we believe, due to a power cut in the locality. Happily, the camera feed came back after the power was restored without the necessity of any work to the camera and feed being required for, as you can see, at least one of the owls seems to have taken up what looks like semi-permanent residence in the box. We have had some wet and windy weather over the last couple of days so it makes sense for them to be in the tower. We are now moving towards the mating season so we should see more of both. Fingers crossed!!
The sun is beginning to shine and down the Fen things are beginning to stir!
We took advantage today of the dry weather and in the temporary absence of our tenants we have carried out some further improvements to the camera feed and so far (fingers & toes crossed !!) we now seem to have a glorious permanent technicolour feed.

In November 2022, the Trust was pleased to provide a grant to the Bourne branch of the Salvation Army, in order to support their annual Christmas appeal. The Salvation Army’s Christmas appeal supports families in Bourne who are struggling at Christmas, by providing them with food and gifts.

Lt. Sarah O’Grady (with assistance from faithful friend Ginny) is pictured here sorting out some of the results of the 2022 Christmas Appeal.
We were very pleased to support Sarah and all the volunteers who helped with the packing (including dog Ginny!)

10 years ago today, the closed roads of Bourne were transported back to the 1960’s with the sights and sounds of Grand Prix racing cars from the era.
BRM was a Formula One motor racing team that was based in the town, and BRM Day celebrated 50 years since the team won the Grand Prix world championship in 1962. Over 30,000 people attended the town’s largest ever community event.
The Len Pick Trust was pleased to provide core funding to the BRM Day Committee, which enabled the event to go ahead. Proceeds from the day went on to raise over £50,000 for local charities – the Bourne Outdoor Swimming Pool and Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.
All photos were kindly provided to the BRM Day Committee at the time of the event.
The 11th edition of Bourne SciFest, supported by the Len Pick Trust, returns on Monday, 17th October 2022.
The long-running science event runs for a week, hosting scientific shows and demonstrations for school children of all ages. The Trust has supported the event for a number of years, which has been proven to inspire generations of school children within the town. After a hiatus caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, we are thrilled to see SciFest return to the town.
Bourne has been awarded a Silver Guilt in the East Midlands in Bloom competition.
The Len Pick Trust has provided funding for planters on the entrances to the town, and so the award is a great achievement for all involved, particularly Bourne Town Council, Bill Pauley, Gary’s Gardens and Bourne Flower Club.
