10 years ago today: remembering BRM Day 2012

7 October 2022

10 years ago today, the closed roads of Bourne were transported back to the 1960’s with the sights and sounds of Grand Prix racing cars from the era.

BRM was a Formula One motor racing team that was based in the town, and BRM Day celebrated 50 years since the team won the Grand Prix world championship in 1962. Over 30,000 people attended the town’s largest ever community event.

The Len Pick Trust was pleased to provide core funding to the BRM Day Committee, which enabled the event to go ahead. Proceeds from the day went on to raise over £50,000 for local charities – the Bourne Outdoor Swimming Pool and Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.

All photos were kindly provided to the BRM Day Committee at the time of the event.
