2020 Memorial Evening Speaker Announced

The speaker at the 2020 Len Pick Memorial Evening, to be held on the 29th January next, will be Amanda Owen, otherwise known as the "Yorkshire Shepherdess".

Life is never dull at Ravenseat, a traditional hill farm in remote Upper Swaledale and relaxation is a word that Amanda does not fully understands as apart from shepherding around some 1000 sheep, one husband and their nine children in 2000 acres of remote Upper Swaledale in North Yorkshire, she also finds time to chronicle her stories as a best-selling author and appearing on TV shows. In case all that is not enough Amanda somehow finds time to be an Ambassador for The Yorkshire Air Ambulance!

Her farming life is a traditional way of living that’s virtually disappeared – but Amanda wouldn’t change it for the world and feels privileged to be living out her dream in some of Yorkshires most glorious scenery with her family.

The connection to nature and the freedom and independence that living off the beaten track brings more than makes up for the challenges that the long, hard winters bring.

Tickets for the event will be on sale in early January.
